Spring is about to arrive. Little girl Yangchan Lhamo’s father Guru has a motorbike accident. Rumours spread among the herdsmen and villagers that it must have been

the bad karma coming back to him for his neglect of his own father. When Guru’s father falls ill and everyone in the village is going to visit him, Guru finally brings Yangchan to meet her grandfather for the first time in her life.

After moving  from the  winter pastures to the summer pastures, the young Yangchan is left with the responsibility of taking care of a  little sheep and she grows attached to it very much. In the meantime Guru finds a ‘gzi’ (a kind of holy stone that is supposed to have come from heaven) with ‘three eyes’ by chance.  Tibetans believe it signifies the imminent birth of a boy but Yangchan is not pleased when her mother tells her that she will soon have a baby brother.

Summer has arrived.  Yangchan notices her mother Regzin Drolma’s belly has become bigger…

This is a story about a policeman trying to catch “LIUMANG” (rapist in Chinese). It came from a series of rape cases, which occurred in Northeast region of China two years after the “Cultural Revolution”. Captain Li Zhanshan was not a professionally trained police; had limited scout “experience” in the army and an enthusiasm of becoming a hero. The movie began with the impotent Li Zhanshan who met the Chinese medicine professor Cai Bin at the crime scene, and started a difficult and complicated journey of crime solving. Conflicts arose due to the differences in their ideas, and the rapist was able to escape one time after another. Finally, Cai Bin returned to the city after being injured; while Li Zhanshan took off his police uniform and started to sell Tofu instead. Chance contrives better than we ourselves, the aphrodisiac wine solved Li Zhanshan’s impotency, and “Tofu Li” accidentally discovered that his fugitive was just a step away from him…

During the night a passerby (Phillip Keung) needs the toilet, a young woman in a cheerleader’s outfit (Anita Choi) wants some condoms, and Grandpa (Feng Tsui Fan) wants a sandwich and some large scissors. Before long insanity ensues and the Exceed convenience store becomes the scene of a robbery.

Ning dismisses Ryan’s initial Western styling and demands Ryan creates an image for him which represents the power of the new China. Their egos and opinions clash resulting in a strained and difficult working relationship. Over the following days, they slowly discover that they have a lot in common, and a mutual attraction begins to develop. As they become closer, Ryan reveals that he rejects his Chinese heritage because he is ashamed of his impoverished upbringing. Ning opens up and confesses that he is in the closet. After a night out on the town together, a Chinese tabloid magazine exposes Ning as gay. Terrified of the impact it will have on his career, Ning implores Ryan to help him deny the story. Ryan must now decide to help Ning or stay true to himself.

Under the same roof, however, the old man and Mianhua start to develop a trusty and warm relationship over time where he even starts to mistake Mianhua as his ex-wife whom he owed a love debt to. All of a sudden, Mianhua finds out that she got pregnant…
